Benefits of rough walls
The rough walls is a rather small plant not exceeding four inches in height. The sporangia of this species grow sori aligned and have a membrane that covers uniformly along its entire length to provide protection. This species is called binomial path-muraria Asplenium and grows almost everywhere in the world. As its name suggests, the rough wall is a plant that grows naturally on rocky walls and loopholes. Reproduction of this plant develops at the level of spores (elements that are deposited in the sporangia of the species).
The medicinal uses that can make the rough walls include all parts of this plant. As it is available throughout the year there is a specific collection time. The best known medicinal effects of the rough walls are the appetizer, decongestant and antitussive chest. It is used on a widespread basis for all respiratory conditions. In ancient times the rough walls was also highly valued by its quality as a diuretic, but has lately fallen into disuse with this type of use.
The most common dosage forms of this plant are as infusion and decoction. If we make a decoction of rough walls we put 500cc warm water and 30g of this plant. We have to let it cook for about 20 minutes. Then we strain the mixture, remove the remains of the plant and let rest. As the taste of this plant is not the most enjoyable it is best to sweeten with brown sugar or some other natural substance. Drink a cup after each meal (very effective to cut the cough).
