The properties of fennelThe fennel is a shrub with medicinal uses that can measure just over five feet tall. The branches of this herb, also known by the scientific name of Foeniculum vulgare, have a pod-shaped growth ending in very thin sheets. The fruit of the tree of fennel is rather small and elongated. The aroma of the fruit of fennel is slightly anise flavor and very nice.

The flowering season for the tree typical of fennel is from the summer months. The flowers of this herb are yellow.
