Farmers in Britain are facing a great demand for the plant, and that lavender has long been considered a panacea in the world of herbal medicine and today is in a boom.

The flower stems produce the essential oil that can be used topically or diffused in a bathroom and an oil burner.

The most popular way to use essential oil and keeps people in the kit for use on bites, stings and burns and to relieve pain and drops in the bath to promote sleep.

Lavender has antiseptic properties, says Dee Atkinson, spokesman for the National Institute of Medicinal Herbalists, who explains that the First World War was not only used lavender in the wounds of soldiers but also to disinfect hospital walls.

Thanks to its alleged anti-inflammatory properties herbalists suggest that lavender is a great ally in the fight against acne and other skin lesions, which are made for creams or gels that fight inflammation and infection, “says Atkinson.

Five most common uses of Lavender:

To soothe sunburn: add a few drops of essential oil with water in a spray bottle and mist the skin reddens.

To reduce mosquito bites: insect bites and stings, cuts, scrapes and abrasions.

To fight dandruff: put a few drops in water as a hair rinse.

For the relaxation baths, place a handful of the flower in a bundle of nylon in the bath, this bath of lavender is used since Roman times, from which it originates its name, which in Latin is “clean” ” wash “.

For the insomnia and stomach, making dried flower tea to settle upset stomach and induce sleep.
